Miriam Salat Jewelry

Civil Engineer turned Jewelry Designer Miriam Salat found success in the early nineties when she sold her line of hand crafted jewelry to Barneys. In 2010 Miriam revamped her line successfully launching the resin collection. I just love Miriam's pieces and this collection would be a great addition to your jewelry collection. Check out a few of my favorites! Visit her at miriamsalat.com

P.S. Also out today is Rachel Zoe's debut line. Check it out at Neiman Marcus online.

DVF Harper Bag & Exciting News!

Many apologies for my lack of posts in the last few months. My husband and I found out in February that we are pregnant! I am currently 22 weeks along and all is going well. We couldn't be happier and can't wait to meet our little one come October! I have had some previous trouble before with pregnancy so I was taking some time off being extra careful and getting plenty of rest. Now....... back to Life's Latest Luxuries!
So I ran smack into this bag at Neiman Marcus last week and I am obsessed! It's Diane Von Furstenberg's Harper Day Bag. The picture can't do this bag justice. Now this is strictly a bag for fashion. You won't be fitting your life into it. In fact it's more like a clutch than a bag just because it's so thin. Love the tassel, oversize gold hardware and of course the chain handle. Go see it in person! If I decide to purchase it I will post some pics when it arrives. It also comes in a brown leather and a few colors of crocodile. The colors are very muted and very fall. I would love to see this bag in bright hues like red or pink. See it for yourself at DVF.com.

Oscar 2011

While I thought the show was hmm, well less than entertaining, my favorite look of the night was definitely host Anne Hathaway's gorgeous fringed Oscar de la Renta gown. So stunning and goddess-esque!

I also LOVED Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein Collection.

How gorgeous was this Elie Saab Haute Couture lavender lace confection on Mila Kunis!

Jennifer Aniston Haircut

Well, well, well look who has a new haircut! Hot off the heels of her statement about "The Rachel" haircut and just how disgusted she was with it, this move seems surprising. I have always liked her with both long and short hair and while I love this haircut I don't think it accentuates whatever "work" she has had done recently. It looks puffy like maybe fillers?? Anyway, love the haircut and I am sure that we will see this on plenty of people this Spring! What do you think of Jenn's new look?

Givenchy Photo Perfexion Foundation

I am LOVING this foundation. I am always on the search for the perfect one and this one just might be it for me! Photo Perfexion is great for dry skin. It is creamy and moisturizing but dries to a more powdery finish than most other foundations I have used. I find that because my skin is dry I don't even have to use a powder with this. I have also read several reviews on Sephora where several people with oily skin also liked this product, so it might be worth investigating for you as well.  Other foundations that dry to a powder finish really make my skin look flaky but this one does not. It feels very light on the skin yet gives a medium buildable coverage. It also has a lovely scent. If you have normal to dry skin you might give this one a try!

Boutiques.com

If you haven't heard of Google's new e-commerce site then you are missing out! Boutiques.com is trying to change the way people shop for clothes, or that seems to be the mission and I am definitely on board with the change. I am loving this site. Fashionable designers, stylist and celebrities get to create there own boutiques showcasing things they love. You too can also create your own boutique as I did. Going through loads and loads of shoes, bags and apparel I carefully crafted a boutique store I would die to own! Shop in boutiques created by Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen or actress Cary Mulligan just a couple of the many fashion forward celebrity boutiques. Boutiques.com also proves to be a great search site for hard to find luxury items. Click on something you like and it will take you somewhere the item is in stock. Don't know how to wear something you just bought, then simply search for the item and on the right side will appear a panel with street style photos giving you more ways to visualize your new purchase. Check it out, you will love it! Check out my boutique too!

Nars NYC Store

So just in time for the kick off of New York fashion week, famed makeup artist Francois Nars is opening his first namesake boutique in New York's trendy West Village. The stores official grand opening is today, so if you are in the New York area check it out and send me pics! While Nars has long had many fans in the fashion industry they can also count me as a fan! My favorite Nars product is by far Barbarella lipstick, which Marc Jacobs specifically requested for one of his runway shows last year to create what Francois called a "Perfectly Imperfect" look. Barbarella is a must have for your makeup bag. I am also especially loving the "Front Row" makeup set specifically created for Sephora by Francois for Spring. It includes some old favorites and some sure to be new ones that are just what you need to create a pretty spring look and get you runway ready!

As a self proclaimed huge product junky I can't believe that this one hasn't existed before now! Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara is the niftiest makeup product I have seen in a while. Engineered with a tiny brush to grasp the tiniest of bottom lashes this is one product not to be missed! I am definitely loving it. Check it out at Sephora. $10

St. Tropez Bronzing Rocks

So it's the middle of winter and some of you have snow up to your eyeballs! What better way to warm up the day than with St. Tropez Bronzing Rocks. These amazing little rocks which arrived at my home today, are in my opinion less of a bronzer and more of a warm shimmer. They are not glittery and don't leave big pieces of sparkle behind. I adore St. Tropez products, especially the bronzing mousse - I am never without a bottle! I have a feeling these gems will be a staple product in my beauty routine as well. The St. Tropez website even suggests using them as an eyeshadow which I plan to try. This is a must have for a gal that likes a glow! You can find them at Amazon.com

James Perse Deep V Neck Tee

I am always looking for chic casual pieces to add to my wardrobe that can be very versatile. I have found just that in this James Perse Deep V Neck Tee, in a soft stretchy knit with 3/4 blouson sleeves! Pair this with skinny jeans and a pair of heels, then layer on some bangles and a great pair of earrings for a dressy look. Pair with jeans and flats for a weekend casual look. The deep v makes this blouse a great layering piece under blazers as well. Check out this must have at Nordstrom.

Fringe Trend

Fringe is everywhere! I am not completely head over heels about this look yet but I think it will grow on me. I think a fringe necklace is a great place to start if you want to be on trend but are unsure about it. You can find all of these looks at shopbop or net-a-porter.

Parker Military Blouse

The most recent addition to my wardrobe is this silk "Military" blouse from Parker. I am so obsessed with this! Pair it will skinny jeans or a black pencil skirt and this pair of Jimmy Choos  that I am also crazy about. This is such a great classic piece to add to your wardrobe. The ruffle on the front puts it right on trend for Spring and the gold buttons on the epaulettes and cuffs keep the military trend in mind. Kelly Ripa wore this blouse on Live with Regis and Kelly last week in a navy version that can be purchased at Intermix. A few more fans of this blouse:

Platform Wedges For Spring

Platform wedge shoes of all heights and materials seem to be a huge trend for Spring. I love this trend because being petite it's always great to gain a couple of inches! Wear them with a pair of J Brand Flare Jeans and blousy top for a chic weekend look. Here are a few of my favorites.
