The Four Seasons Hualalai resort in Kona, Hawaii is my idea of Heaven! This was my second trip to this Four Seasons property, the first trip being our honeymoon. I have also stayed at the FS Maui and it just can't compare to this one. Of course we all know that the Four Seasons is famous for it's amazing and attentive service but this particular property is just special - no other way to put it! Not only do they have all the amazing amenities that you would find at any luxury resort (luxury boutiques, golf an amazing spa and dining) but their particular amenities go above and beyond what one could expect. The staff is the friendliest anywhere I have ever been and always eager to help satisfy any need. A few years ago on our honeymoon my husband had arranged to make one of my favorite things, smores over a fire pit on the beach. We were just finishing dinner & getting ready to leave the restaurant to make our delicious smores when a very unusual lightning storm started. The staff found us in the restaurants bar and explained to us that it would be unsafe to have our smore party that night but that they would do whatever they could to make it up to us. It wasn't long until the bar hostess came to our table bearing a fondue pot with skewers, flame and all the goodies to prepare our smores at the table! It was so incredibly sweet and unexpected! It has been three years since we that night but when we went back during this trip the same bar hostess was there and we thanked her again for what she did for us that night and creating such a special memory - she hadn't forgotten it either!
Of course this Four Seasons resort has the famous poolside service with Evian spritzes, sunglass cleaning and the occasional spearmint scented cold towel to wipe the sweat from your brow. They also come around with a sample of the cocktail of the day as well as fresh fruit and smoothie shots. Can we just say a big "WOW" all together?!?
Our only complaint during this trip was that the signature restaurant Pahu i'a on the property isn't as good as it once was. It is pricey and you would be better off saving money by eating dinner at the much better Beach Tree Restaurant or off property.
The shopping at this resort is also incredible with boutiques that carry brands like Lanvin, Missoni and DVF and swimwear boutiques carrying Vix and the coveted Melissa Odabash.
Kona is an amazing island with much to explore. When you see it for the first time it does feel a bit surprising, the lava rock makes it feel somewhat like you are on a totally different planet. This is a planet that you will want to visit over and over again!!
I have also stayed at the Four Seasons Maui property and it can't even come close to the experience you get here. As promised here are a few random pictures from our stay. Enjoy!!
